Comedian Joe Wells (known for his viral video Having a Non-Autistic Brother, which has amassed over 4.5 million views online) and Abigoliah Schamaun (known for appearances on BBC’s Pointless Celebrities and Channel 4’s Captive Audience) are set to publish new book Neurodivergent Moments: Sex, Sunscreen, Turtles and How (Not) to Pack a Suitcase on 18 June 2026. It’s a funny, candid and very relatable collection of autobiographical essays exploring the everyday realities of living as neurodivergent adults.

For anyone who has ever booked the wrong train, forgotten to eat for nine hours, or spent more time embroidering their co-author’s baby a pillow than writing the book they were contracted to deliver, Neurodivergent Moments is both a celebration and an explanation of differently wired brains.

Across 24 short essays spanning school, work, relationships, travel and everything in between, Wells and Schamaun draw on their popular podcast, Neurodivergent Moments, to offer an honest, funny and refreshingly un-self-helpy portrait of neurodivergent life – not as a problem to be fixed, but as a different, and often hilarious, way of being in the world.

The title refers to the little moments in life that become different, difficult, or unexpectedly brilliant when your brain is wired differently and celebrates the humour, chaos and shared experiences that shape neurodivergent lives. Warm, irreverent and personal, Neurodivergent Moments is not a self-help book, instead offering a generous, funny and sometimes chaotic portrait of neurodivergent life through lived experience and storytelling.

The book arrives at a moment when conversations around neurodivergence, particularly adult diagnosis, identity, work and relationships, are becoming an increasingly visible part of public life. By approaching these subjects through humour rather than instruction, Wells and Schamaun offer a refreshing alternative to the self-help tone that often dominates discussions of neurodivergence.

Both authors are established figures in UK stand-up comedy and broadcasting, with significant experience across live performance, podcasting and media interviews. To promote the book the authors will be performing at live events in Hastings, Brighton, London, Portsmouth and Machynleth this spring.

Joe Wells is a stand-up comedian, writer and podcaster whose work often explores politics, neurodivergence and mental health. His video Having a Non-Autistic Brother has received more than 4.5 million views online, and he has appeared on Rosie Jones’ Disability Comedy Extravaganza (UKTV). He regularly opens for Frankie Boyle and has a social media following of over 150,000.

Abigoliah Schamaun is a New York-born comedian, writer, podcaster and actor based in the UK. She has appeared on Pointless Celebrities (BBC), Captive Audience (Channel 4), Outrageously Funny Comedians (Channel 5) and I Live With Models (Comedy Central). She is also co-host of the podcasts All British Comedy Explained and Neurodivergent Moments
