Makiko Harris

Makiko Harris

GingerBread first worked with Japanese-American multidisciplinary artist Makiko Harris on her solo show at Art ‘lotel in Hoxton, where she first presented her work Needle Dance, garnering widespread coverage in London cultural media. Since then, Makiko has been selected for New Contemporaries (2026), a finalist for The Cass Art Prize (2025), The Women in Art Prize (2025), and the Ingram Prize (2024) and her work has been exhibited at institutions including Dulwich Picture Gallery, South London Gallery, Villa Schöningen, Kunstverein Wolfsburg, and Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art.

GingerBread is currently working with Makiko on an ongoing basis on profile within international arts media as she approaches a solo exhibition in West Palm Beach in summer 2026 and a group exhibition in London later this year. As part of our work, we recently placed a ‘one to watch’ feature in the Evening Standard – we definitely agree Makiko is one to watch this year!
